External Keyboard and Mouse
Can I use the ps2 connection on the back of my Inspiron 2650 with a y-splitter and use oth my external keyboard and external mouse at the same time? If yes, how do I do it? I can use each of them individually with the splitter, but wen I connect both the keyboard and mouse to the splitter, neither the mouse or the keypad works but the keyboard does. I then have to reboot to get the touchpad to work again.

pmalone99,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
The only consideration when using a splitter is that if the jack is powered, there may not be enough power to make both devices work.
I ran across this, personally, when I was trying to attach two sets of speakers to my desktop unit. The jack provided enough power for three speakers, not four. The principle may be similar here.

pmalone99,
You are treading on territory that I have not seen yet. When I was using a splitter for my speakers, it was unpowered. The result was that only 3 speakers worked. This may or may not be similar in your case.
