External parallel device not recognised by C600
C600 with XP home ed.
Trying to hook up a second hand Iomega zip100 external parallel port drive but system doesn't even blink and can't find any new hardware when asked to search.
Could this be a problem with my parallel port or maybe the cables? have the same problem with a parallel scanner but with different cables!
Am i doing something wrong?
Any ideas would be appreciated

It's been a while, if I remember correctly, ZIP100 parallel is not plug-and-play. Go to http://www.iomega.com, download the drivers and install it manually.

Thanks WiG, i'll try it but surely the system should have recognised that something was attached to the parallel port even if it didn't know what?!
I'll let you know if it works
