External speakers not working

Question

Hi all, I have a Dell D620 running on Vista Business. the internal speakers work perfectly fine, but when I plug in the external speakers through the headphones jacket there is not sound. I don't know what happened, it was working fine in the evening but this morning it just did not work.

try borrowing a working set of headphones and try using it on the headphone jack of your laptop... if it works, then it could be a problem with your speakers... if it doesn't, then it could be a problem with the port already...

Thanks for the reply. But I did try some other headphones, but it still does not work. I guess that's it then, the port is broken. what a shame!! Is there a way to fix it?

Your other alternative is to find a USB Sound solution and go that route...
