Eye Trouble?

Question

I have a Dell Ispiron 9300 with a Raedon x300.   The highest refresh rate I can get is 60hz. Its registering as a 'Default Monitor' which is most likely normal as I imagine Dell just have a proprietary LCD. However, this refresh rate is killing my eyes! I have 3 other LCD's that I run around 72hz and few eye problems.   Perhaps there is a way to register a monitor, or this monitor and achieve a higher rate. Maybe there isn't and Dell should look into this?

60 hz is the highest refresh rate you going to get on a laptop. Thats why getting super high FPS makes no sense. Are your resolutions between your lcds different? ben

Another possibility is that your LCD's brightness setting is too bright for your eyes.

Interesting, im curious as to why laptops would cap at 60hz. Enlighten me.   Oh, yeah. It might the brightness, but its not. its actually quite dim as I like to conserve battery life.

LCDs use a different method of drawing the image on-screen versus a CRT monitor. As a consequence a refresh rate of > 60 hertz is neither required not desirable.
