FanGUI is a program that lets you control and monitor the fan activity on your Dell Insiron and Latitude laptops.

Actually, Its one program for all the lines. I haven't the link readily available. But if you search for it in this forum I'm certain you will come across it!

So with this program...how do I determine what is safe to run for fan speeds?

Is there some drawback to running the fans at high all the time? I imagine it would kill battery life for one...but will it damage the fans?

Is there a reason why I should enable direct fan control at all?

My PC when performing normal tasks is at about 26C is that good or bad?

I haven't checked it yet when playing a game but it would be higher...how high is too high?

Does fanGUI do anything differently than the computer does on it's own? In other words...does the computer not manage it's fans the way fanGUI does?

I can't tell if installing fanGUI has affected the way the fans in my computer operate. It seems like the fans just ran all of the time before but fan GUI has them off most of the time...is this good, or bad or what???
