If the system is getting to the point where it is loading the operating system and starts to take a long time, then the problem is not the BIOS, so a quick boot program would not help.
The problem you are describing seems to be more OS related.
1. It's on page 3 of the BIOS Setup. Set Boot POST to "Minimal" to skip most of the POST diagnostics. (The other options are "Automatic" and "Thorough.")
2. I believe you can upgrade directly to A28. It's a cumulative update.

Why isn't there a fast boot?
In fast boot can't you bypass the RAM diagnostics... making the boot much faster?
Then how are some i5150 owners getting boots of like 10 seconds?

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
The closest thing that this system has is an option in the BIOS called “quiteboot”.

alright!.. that is what I was looking for.!
Question 1: is that skip in the form of "fast boot" located in bios settings?
Question 2: Right now I have A01 ( i'm a firstie, huh) anyway, can I go from A1 to A28 or is there a particular inbetween that is essential?
thanks for the help
