Finding the right wireless driver for Latitude E5510
i re-installed my OS on my laptop but was missing a few drivers. The one i can't find on the Dell site is the right driver to get my wireless adaptor to start working. can connect to the internet by a CAT5 cable. On device manager it seems im missing 'Network Controller' tho i am struggling to find the right one.
Any ideas and help would be fab

Enter your service tag to get your system configuration to see what you ordered. If you have trouble reading it copy and paste here.

<ADMIN NOTE : Service Tag removed per privacy policy> - service tag All options it gave me didn't work. On device manager it's saying I'm lacking the 'Network controller' and 'PCI simple communications controller'

You first need to load the Intel Chipset driver, then the Broadcom driver for your network card. You have the Intel 6200 wireless card so you can install that too. Go here and choose your Operating System.

Hi. I realize that this having been over 3 years ago, you probably already found what to do. This is for those who like me ran across this same thing only to have to hack it out on my own. In my case, I had not only this driver issue but also one listed as "other" and "unknown". My, how helpful those descriptions are, almost as helpful as "network controller" but I digress. Anyway, I made the mistake of downloading and installing the Broadcom 57XX Gigabit Controller Driver only to no avail. I did this only because the actual wi fi card on it IS a Broadcom device only it said nothing about 57XX Gigabit, but I decided to give it a whirl because it looked like the closes match to what I have going on. Guess what - wrong answer. The right one?
Wireless Lan 1397/1501/1502 Half mini card Driver listed in Network files.
Who knew?? Said nothing of the sort on the ACTUAL CARD!
Now moving on to the "other" and "unknown'. (jeeps, who programs this ***?? One would think that somehow the computer should tell me much better what the bleep it is that the hardware is, identify it and better tell me what it is, no? What are we, back in the stone ages of Windows 95 where driver issues where abound??) Again, I digress. Sorrry.
It is in the Chipset files
St Microelectronics Free fall Sensor Driver.
Again, who knew?
Had no idea what a Free Fall Sensor was or that my system even had one.
Hope this helps all those out there that come across this same thing.

In my case the Lan Wireless card croaked. Took out the OS. Repair disk would not repair indicating it was fine, but it would not boot on it's own. Downloaded Win 7 from MS to USB and reloaded system. Still hanging. Finally caught it hanging on the network system load. Pulled the wireless DW1501 card and it booted fine. Now I got a running machine, no internet connections and no license.
DW1501 on ebay about $10....
Diagnosis, if it's not booting right..even in safe mode, pull the wireless card and try again.
