Flash Video BIOS
Hello,
I own an Alienware m17x with an Nvidia 560m graphics card. On Dell's drivers page, it notes that the BIOS is an urgent update for the card. I have experienced some bugs with the card, so I'm hoping that this will help fix some problems, however, the issue I have encountered is that I can't figure out how to flash the BIOS. The download is an ISO image which I have burnt to a disc, but when I try to boot from it, my computer simply says "Operating System Not Found". I also tried booting it from a USB drive, but it produced the same results. I'm getting rather flustered as I have tried many different things to get it to work. Any ideas? I'm wondering if the ISO doesn't include all of the necessary files. The download can be found by following the link below.

Andrew,
I don't believe you fully understood the question or perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I need to flash the VBIOS for my video card which is an NVIDIA GTX 560m. I have already located the file, the problem I am having is getting it to work...the file is in the link I have provided above.

Sorry for any confusion. Have you tried checking on the link provided by Paul. You might wanna try flashing the BIOS using Bootable DOS USB Drive. Let me know if that helps. Reach out for anything else.

Paul,
I follow your instructions, but now I have reached a new problem. Instead of running the BIOS flash, it just says "Using US-English keyboard with US-English codepage (437)" and brings up a "C:\" command prompt. I'm not sure what to do here.

There should be a .ROM file and a flash utility in the download. So the flash should start automatically when you boot from the USB drive. Can you extract the files from the .ISO and see what's there. If the .ROM file and flash utility are missing then the .ISO is useless.

I burnt the ISO to the disk, which I have done plenty of times before which is why I got confused when it didn't work in the first place. I mounted the image to a virtual hard drive and it only contains one file called "readme.hta". This leads me to believe that the image doesn't include all the necessary files. Am I correct about that or is there a way to run a .hta from the BIOS?

I've just checked the file. It contains within the ISO an image called Bootable Hard disk (which presumably contains the boot files plus the flash rom and utility). When you originally burn't the ISO to CD did you just copy the ISO to CD or did you burn it as an image (ISO)?

The ISO as far as I can see contains two files
The [BOOT] folder contains the image Bootable Hardisk (.IMG File)
This presumably contains the boot files needed for the bootable CD and also the VBIOS Rom and flash utility?
However extracting this file....
I'm unsure if the download is missing necessary files. Maybe the image file (Bootable Hard Disk) needs to be burnt to CD as an image and then boot laptop with CD?

That's strange. The only file I see is readme.hta. I don't see a BOOT folder.
