I have also been having a popular problem with my 'Page Down', 'Page Up', left arrow, and up arrow keys. I have to twist the keyboard to get these to work, but even that is inconsistent. Remedies anyone?
I figured it out after sifting through a number of posts... Ever feel like Homer Simpson when trying to figure out how to "fix" something? I did.
Now I do have one more issue and I wonder if you can tell me how to resolve it? I have read numerous posts regarding the removal of keyboards and cleaning connectors. Would this solution fix the other problem I am having, namely that my arrow buttons do not always work, nor do my page up, page down, delete, etc. It seems the (upper/lower) right side of my Latitude CPx acts strangely often enough for me to complain. "Bending" the laptop seems to work, but only short-term. Would you suggest removal and cleaning?

Alex,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
It sounds like the key may be stuck in the down position. Turn off the number lock to see if that resolves the issue. If it does not, you may want to look at this documentation for keyboard removal instructions.

ok.. check this out. I had a similar prob. This is what I did to rectify.
Hold down FN key then hit the F11 key to release the num lock. Your num lock light should go off, then back to regular typing.
Bob was tellling me to turn off num lock and it was not registering to me that I had to hold down the FN key while doing that.
Peace!

I had the same problem... here is how I fixed it...
If you are using Windows XP, you are in luck. Go to Start... Help and Support... you should find System Restore there.
Select the most recent date that you were not experiencing this fn key problem. Windows will restore all previous settings
to that date w/o erasing any of your files.
It took me forever to solve this problem...
