Fn+F7 Dpesnt work to stretch screen!!!!HELP!!!

i have the standard Intel GPU on my Inspiron 1100 laptop. I wish to play video games in 800x600 resoltuion for higher FPS. However, when i change to that resolution, the screen shrinks with a huge black border...I naturally read the stikied FAQ thread before posting this. It said that pressing the Function (Fn) key along with F7 would stretch the screen. This, however, did not work. It said as an alternative for those who have nVidia chips do do something else (i tried it anyway even though I DON'T have a nVidia GPU, but the setting wasn't present). Please help me figure out how to make the screen stretch!!! Thank you much! Oh, and i did ask on the steampowered.com forums and couldnt find an answer there wither.

Unfortunately, the 1100 doesnt have the ability to stretch it's display. Refer to this
