frozen screen
I recently purchased a Dell Latitude 3550 with Word 10 pro. Yesterday, 1/15/06, I downloaded a Word 10 update that was suppose to remove any previous glitches and also downloaded the driver that the notification also suggested. When I turned on my pc this morning my pc read that the touchscreen had been disengaged. Now my cursor will not move, causing my screen to be totally frozen in time. What can be done? I'm on my old Vista right now because my new pc is frozen! I also had trouble with the wifi connection cutting off before this happened.

Hi,
What to do depends on whether you created a recovery drive on the system when you received it, or whether you received the Windows 10 installation media with your order.
Here is a KB article from Microsoft about the various recovery options in Windows 10.
If you didn't get the installation media with your system you're now in luck. You can download the Windows Recovery Image directly from our Drivers & Download support pages for your system. If you go to our main support site, input your service tag, the system will redirect you to the pages for your Latitude 3550. If you on the Drivers & Downloads link, and filter to Windows 10, under the Operating System category you can type in your service tag and download the software. Note: this copy of the installation media is locked to the Dell Service Tag you input into the system.
If you have any other questions, or need more help troubleshooting please click on my Dell Todd username and send me a private message with the Dell Service Tag of your Latitude 3550. Please keep all troubleshooting questions or steps here in the forums so others, with the same questions, can see what is done to resolve the issue.

Todd--
Thank you for your suggestion. I was able to use a exterior wifi mouse to fix the problem. It was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I will save your suggestion in case I run into trouble again.
