Frustrating Audio stuttering problems
I've tried several things mentioned here and I just can't get rid of the stuttering audio. My previous work computer was a Dell Precision 410 and it suffered from the same thing. Well now I have a Inspiron 8200 and I just can't figure it out. This has bugged me to the point of getting a SoundBlaster Extigy this last weekend and sure enough its still doing it. I've done the usual turn off all unneeded apps and services. I've tried different headphones, different sound cards, different computers even. From the numerous complants I read through there seems to be something wrong somewhere but nobody can pin it down.

A09 Bios
Newest drivers on everything except the new aps pointer drivers and the combo drive firmware updates, which will be installed shortly.

Approximately how recently did you first begin to experience this problem and do you remember making any hardware or software changes to your configuration directly previous to this first occurring? Try removing or disabling your network adapter.

I've tried disabling all of them(onboard, wireless, and docking station) but it still happens. Is there a solution if it happens to be the NIC? Just disabling it isn't an option, I need to be on the network here at work.
I recall it happening right after I got the notebook, back in December. Since I had the same problems with a Precision 410 I figured it was the crystal audio chip. Since then I've tried every bios/driver update for the system in hopes that it would be cleared up.
One thing I noticed yesterday, I downloaded and installed the latest chipset drivers A01. I did this because I noticed that everything under "System Devices" in device manager was using microsoft drivers not intel's. Now only the "Intel(R) 82845 Processor to AGP Controller - 1A31" is using Intel's drivers. Should there be more? I have never messed with this before the other day when installing the Intel Chipset drivers.

Every 20-30 seconds a single stutter or clicking type noise is heard. Its just enough of a delay that you start to ignore the first time it happens just for it to happen again. This is consistent for Creative's PlayCenter, Winamp, and Windows Media Player.

My system is a Dell Inspiron 8200. BIOS A11. Latest Crystal Audio driver from the Dell download site. 512 MB RAM. ATI Radeon 9000 video. Windows XP SP2.
