Gaming upgrade
My son has an Inspiron N5110 with i5-2450M processor - 1GB GeForce GT 525M graphic card - 6GB RAM - he can't afford Alienware as yet and wants to upgrade but I don't know what would be sensible or effective upgrades. Any suggestions please? Many thanks

Hi RPLT,
The main component to upgrade on a system for gaming would be a Video card. But on Dell Inspiron N5110 the video card is embedded on the system board and cannot be upgraded. The other options available to increase the speed for your system are the Processor and the RAM only. Memory can be upgraded to 8GB (4GB x 2) and the processor to Intel® Core™ i7-2720QM Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.30 GHz).

There are no upgrades for the video chip in the system, which is what you'd need for gaming. You will need a higher-end, newer notebook or a new desktop system - what you have cannot be upgraded for gaming.
