Hard disk grinds when starting
My hard disk (in a laptop, an Inspiron 1750)n grinds when it starts up . . . or, rather, it won't start when it does that. It'll go in to the troubleshooting mode, find no fix, and after several attempts, start up. This morning, I had to turn it off and restart six times. What gives? Is it reparable or should I just get a new computer?

The hard drive likely needs to be replaced.

I thought so. Now, the computer is a year and a half old; do you think I should replace the hard disk or get a whole new computer?
