HDMI port not working

Hi,

I have vostro 1550 Intel i3 and i am unable to use HDMI port.

Actually my VGA port is dislocated so i tried to connect my laptop with projector using HDMI port. I have updated my BIOS but failed to connect my laptop with projector. To make sure that HDMI cable is working or not, i connected my friend's laptop with L.G LED display using same HDMI cable instantly it started working but when i tried to connect my laptop using HDMI cable its not even showing any signal of connection .

So please Help.
