Hello? Is anyone can help me PLEASE?

Hello there everyone..
 
My name is Iyhab, and this is my second message to
 
post in this website. And I have a problem, i hope
 
if there is anybody can help me with it, and i will
 
be very thankful and appericated.
 
My problem is that, I have Inspiron 1100 DELL laptop,
 
and am trying to connect it to the TV, I have the plug and
 
i followed the instructions that comes with the laptop, but
 
unfortunately, in the instruction it said, that I should see a TV
 
icon, but i followed every single step, but i couldn't see any icon
 
like that. So, can anyone PLZ help me with this problem, and tell me how
 
i can connect the laptop to TV? And how i can see that icon TV, that i should see?

Have you tried to connect while your laptop is off then boot?

If you have the TV plugged into the s-video connection, then right click on the desktop and select 'graphics options' and then 'output to' and there should be a TV option. If you select that the display will switch to the s-video and display on the TV.

That is the problem, the TV icon is not there :(

Make sure you have the S-video device turned ON when trying to select TV.  If the NB doesn't see an S-video device, the choice won't appear.

Make sure the s-Video plug is active go here and look at this s-video laptop adaptor it converts 7 pin male to 4 pin female.This adaptor came with my 9100 and XPS but i also had a 1100 which i gave to my neice which this adaptor worked on all 3 the XPS,9100 and 1100   http://www.showmecables.com/estore/store/showProducts.asp?category_id=139  scroll down till you see part #CLAV026 I know this adaptor works i think the problem is it needs to be converted from 7 pin to 4 pin then the standerd 4 pin s-video cable will work.
