Help needed please regarding memory stick slot!!!

 have just recieved my brand new shiny laptop and have inserted my memory stick duo only for it to be stuck!!! I cannot reach it as it is too far in.  Can someone please give me some advicee on how to get it out i'm so upset!

The memory slot is spring loaded.  Pressing in on the memory card should cause it to pop out a short way when you release it.  I know this works with a Secure Digital card, but I have never tried it with any other type of memory card.
