Home Depot Box?

You should have called Dell Tech support.  They could have provide you with the box and the waybill so you can return your computer for repair, if that's the case.

if the system was being sent in for repair the box would have been delivered from airborne express.  Sounds like he's returning the system for whatever reason if he sent it to texas (repair depot is in memphis).  Since it's being returned they don't really have a choice what the container is. 

I put in the request for the return number but Ive had so many problems with them in the last month, after not getting responses and basically having the computer not work, I figured my only route was to return the computer and hopefully they will just take it back and it will be over.  Its on a preferred account so I never paid anything up front.  Its not really the money issue, it just  seems like way too much of a hassle to deal with.

Hopefully he set up a CRA (Customer Return Authorization) with Dell, otherwise he could be in for quite a mess...

Well I hope they take it back with no problem and credit your Preferred Account for it.  How long ago did you send it in, if I may ask?  If it's been more than 4-5 days you might want to call them for a status check to see if they received it.  (haha... still laughing over the Home Depot box) 

It was interesting, when I mailed the puter off in the "Home Depot" box, the lady at the mail place accidently typed in "Dell Decieving" instead of "Dell Recieving".  Needless to say, she didnt change it back to recieving, for some strange reason I felt it fit my situation so I left it.  The Home Depot Box should be ariving in Texas by this coming Friday.  Should be interesting. 

I think Dell will not accept it.  I suspect, that it will be returned to you.

You do like to live on the side of danger...  You could very well end up with your notebook "missing" -and- still be in to DFS for the cost of the computer.

Aren't you a little bit nervous...?

Mark, I hear what you are saying and I totally agree.  The only thing I did was get a return reciept and insure the computer for 1500.00.  Considering the alternative which was keep the computer and have to pay regardless, I chose to send it back.  I applied for the refund request 2 weeks prior and recieved no response from Dell.  I would not be suprised to find that the computer shows up "missing" as you say.  I really found myself with no alternative and if I have to bite 1500.00 so be it.  Being an electrician I always seem to find myself living on the edge, maybe that has something to do with it, also the fact that I'm 40 years old now and I find a challenge...uh...challenging.

i always make sure i get a tracking number and i tell the delivery person to get a signiture and when it get,s were it,s going i print it out online for my record,s incase anything get,s damaged or lost i have the date it was droped off and proof it was signed for all printed out

Finally got in touch with Dell Customer service and they credited the account and gave me a reference #.  All I had to say was that I was considering legal alternatives if the computer mysteriously got lost or anything out of the ordinary.  I remember when I was in the Marines I worked in the Postal Fleet Mail Center and missing packages were almost non-existent and given the technology today it's almost impossible.  That would be one whoops...cant say that... of a coincidence but not suprising.  Anyway, so far so good.  Im only bummed because I had the best intentions and really wanted a laptop, it was my first and unfortunately I think it will be my last.  Oh well, another lesson learned...sheesh!
