How do I make my printer work without having a cable connect it to the computer.

How you do it depends on a few things.  Does your computer have a wireless network card in it?  If it does, you can get  wireless print server.

 

The nice thing about this, if you ever want to set up a network, then you will need one of these to conveniently share the printer.

Yes, I believe I have a wireless card in it because when I got this laptop, it was my intention that I be able to access the internet without always being tethered by a cord. (I've since been told that I need an ISP connection other than via a phone modem, but phone modem is all  that's available here, so it seems that I can't have a wireless laptop... does that sound right to you?

Anyway, I have something in my control panel that says "True Mobile Wireless Utility" (and then inside there, it also says "Dell TrueMobile 1180 Internal 802.11b Mini PCI Card - Packet Scheduler Miniport"). It's all greek to me.

What's the 802.11b that you mention? Would I just buy the hardware that you mentioned, plug it in and that would generally be it, or would I need to do something more complicated?
