How much does HDD data recovery cost?
Hi I have a dell Inspiron 1545. I recently dropped it, and a black screen appeared with the mouse. It wouldn't go off the screen so I ran diagnostics. It returned error code 2000-0142 and after a bit of digging I found out that my hard drive was stuffed. The laptop is way out of warranty, so how much would a new hard drive and data recovery cost? I have some stuff on that hard drive I need for school. Also, the battery is completely fried and the charger is buggered. How much would it cost for those things to get repaired? Thanks!

Hi,
The Service Tag is on a sticker at the bottom of your laptop, or Press the F2 key at the Dell Logo to enter the Bios to find the service tag. Sent it to me on a Private Message. I will need to send them to the sales team to get a quote.
Thank you.

Hi,
Welcome to the Community. To recover data of your hard drive is pretty expensive. You can try DriveSavers who helps with Data Recovery. If you need a quote for the Hard Drive, Battery and AC Adapter, then send me a Private Message, click on my user name, add me as a friend and send me your Name, Service Tag and Phone Number.
Thank you.

Ok. I don't have a service tag I don't think? And I don't have a phone either. They are a waste of money, I email instead... But the hard drive is 500GB I believe the battery is 11.1V the charger is 19.5V. Would you have even a rough estimate? Exams are coming up and I really need my computer ASAP.

Hi, I agree with DELL-Royan S. To recover data, DriveSavers is one of the biggest companies in the world providing data recovery. However, they are very expensive. The average recovery runs from $700 to $2700. On the other hand, I know this company in South Florida that provides data recovery for all CompUSA stores. They charge an average of $400 to $1200... they are good, they recovered the data from my Seagate 500GB not so long ago and they charged me $940. It is still expensive, but my data was worth it. I think their website is www.datalabrecovery.com... Good luck!
