How to disable hyper-threading on Dell Inspiron?

Hello. I've bought a notebook (dell inspiron n5110) with i7 2630. And I found out that hyper-threading slows down a single-threaded application. For example, Firefox can load only 1 thread of 1 core, while I expected it will load the full core, not half. So, how can I turn hyper-threading off? I didn't find any settings in BIOS (version A07).

If Inspiron's BIOS doesn't support this setting, will the setting appear in the next version of BIOS? If yes, then how long it takes to release a new version of BIOS?

To other Inspiron owners: if you have also experienced inconvenience because of hyper-threading, please, write here. Maybe Dell consider our opinion and will release a new version of BIOS where it will be possible to disable hyper-threading.

To my knowledge there is no way in the BIOS to disable hyper threading. I have not read of many problems where having hyper threading slowed down Firefox with Core I7 processors.  I would make sure if you haven't already, upgrade Firefox to latest version and for that matter test other browsers.  Hyper threading may not always increase performance on an application, but it shouldn't slow it down either.  On top of that turbo boost should actually speed up applications that only use one core.
