Hi abdo refky,

Request you to try the below steps:

(1) Turn on the computer.

(2) At the Dell logo, keep tapping F2 key.

(3) BIOS screen appears, move to advanced tab

(4) Select Intel speed step and disable it.

(5) Move to exit tab and select ‘exit saving changes’.

Check if the same issue happens. Do reply with your findings.

Hi abdo refky,

Unfortunately Dell systems do not allow disabling hyper threading. However, do let me know the reason why you are trying to do so. I can check and let you if there is an alternative.

well , i am using Ubuntu ,   my laptop came with Ubuntu pre-installed on it , that's good because u get the original drivers , and recovery of course .

the software spike's when i open the  gnome ( desktop environment  ) menu multiple time's  ""it's activated  by mouse touch "" and  also sometimes if u open the menu  the pc freez for 2 sec !

now  if i try to open the menu by a shortcut key it's work perfectly ,

since

the clicking on the menu causing a small effect  and the processor do the graphic (which i think cause no load at all

also the pc processor usage is 5-25 % and the processor frequency always run at 1200 MHZ ,, which jump to 2400 if  there are load .

i thought to close the hyper threading to see if the bug will remain .

that spike's should not happen on core i3-3310M

here is a gnome picture . as u can see on the first picture the processor was running at 2400 MHZ with usage 4 % at the time
