I cant format-i cant reinstall..

hi..
 
i have inspiron 5100.I have Xp home i want to format my notebook but i cant.Notting happens..
 
and when i put the cd it doesnt appears on the  beginig.. it all time starts with hard disk..
 
when i couldnt solve the problem i have tried to install win 2000 i did... but again i couldnt format to.
 
and i couldnt find  the video driver..
 
 
Please help.!!
 
it drives me crayz..

If you have a Onetime Boot order prompt on boot, use that and set it for CD drive first. If not, enter BIOS  setup with F2 and set your CD Drive first in the boot order on page 2. Use Alt+P to change pages

In the first link,you can  try starting with these Setup Utility Disks in a Floppy drive, and then switch to the CD when prompted. Get the right set for your version and Service Pack.  The second link is to the video driver

i did i did.. but it doesnt work..
 
i have tried with win 2000 ... it works... but.. win xp.. it doesnt..
 
i have seen some where on this web site a solution.. but.. where.???
 
 
+ is there any driver for win 2000 to video card.. (5100 inspiron)

If you are before BIOS version A22 the F2 and F12 do not work.  You should update to a newer BIOS version before installing WIndows.
