i2500 screen dead?

Hi
I have an i2500 here that wants to boot but nothing appears on the screen. The screen lights up but is remains just a blank of color grey. How do I tell what part of the screen is at fault, inverter etc. or is it a case of the complete unit being well pased it's sell by date?? Anyone's help appreciated.

Just try and hook up an external monitor first thing. If the external monitor works, then we'll continue on from there.

Hi,

I would reseat everthing first, the ribbon cable on the lcd and the motherboard. It sounds like you have a backlight, so the inverter is OK. Do you have video on the vga port ? The 2500 does not have a seperate video card, so it could be the motherboard also. Try the reseat first then I would suspect the LCD, the cable will be cheaper, although not as likely. Are you able to test your LCD assy on another machine ?
