I600m or D600 plus compatibility question
Thank you to all of you who helped me decide on a 600; either i600m or D600.
I have a D800. Would I be able to interchange batteries and / or a port replicator between the D800 and D600? What about the D800 and I600m? Are there other components compatible with either or both?
Anything else I should consider?
Thank you,

Could they share a port replicator?
If a laptop is connected to a port replicator is the battery recharging?
Thank you,

mikept03,
Thank you for the battery information.
In configuring both machines (home and small business) the price came out pretty much equal. However I never did find the option of the 64mb video memory. Could that be because I'm looking at a XGA?

TD or Anyone Else Available,
So I can use the same port replicator for both the D800 and D600. Does that go for the 600m and D800 also?
Sterlin254,
Thank you for the link and your patience. Rather than using that page I always used the "customize and price" page because the prices helped me choose my options. Going that route the 64mb was never an option.
Is the benefit of the 64mb video memory speed of turnover or does it help make objects on the screen any clearer? (I know the screen display and resolution does the later).
If the answers to my above questions turn out to be no and no. I will probably go with the D600. If they are yes and yes I will need to reconsider.
I really appreciate everyone that is giving me input.
Thank you,

Honestly,
I would recommend that you quickly jump on the I600m because they have some really awesome deals going on. If you are interested, I have a coupon for 250 USD off of sytems priced over 1299.

To answer your question, yes the Advanced Port Replicator (APR) is compatibile w/ both the D600 and D800. Now secondly, I would like to raise another question, would it be possible to interchange the modular battery between the Inspiron 600m and the Inspiron 8600?

After you select the 64MB video card then you just click continue and it will all work the same as your used to ok!!!
And the extra video ram is only for games for regular things the screen will look just as good with the 32MB but i do suggest the SXGA+ over the XGA cause of how huge the XGA is(not physically but the text and the icons)!!!

Wow thank you deepak. I would be very interested in your coupon. I am going through the configuring right now to once again compare the two. Would it work for either or just the Inspiron?
Should I private message you? How would this work?
Thank you,

Also if you get the I600m they have some deals going on to where you get some of the parts for lower prices. Most of these might NOT be going on with the D600,
that is what he mean ok!!!

Deepak, Thank you for your kind offer. However I was just informed that those coupons are identified with the person that got it and that they are not transferable. Thanks anyway. Writeon
I have configured and reconfigured and the D600 comes up lesser expensive than the 600m each time. You get 200 dollars off small business right now.

Hey writeon,
I have "pm"ed the coupon code to you. Tell me if you got it. It expires tomorrow. I didn;t know that they were non-transferable. I've given codes to many people and they have worked before. Anyways, there is no loss in trying.
