IDT High Definition Audio Codec

Hello, I'm currently Having some issues my sound as of today.  It's saying that I have no audio output device installed, it was working fine yesterday, no changes were made, nothing was DL'ed, etc...it also says my drivers are up to date so i'm lost.... any suggestions would be appreciated.. thank you

system : Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop

                Windows 7 Home 64 bit

                3GB Ram

                Pentium T4400 Dual Core

Hello. Take a look at the No Audio FAQ. Start with the sense pin test. If that passes then try reinstalling the audio driver.

Oops. Because you are getting an error message do not bother with the sense pin test. Start with Dell Diagnostics audio tests.

Diagnostics passed all tests, but device manager says device can't start.  deleted driver and reinstalled, same result....device can''t start??

I would try using System Restore to see if that resolves the problem. If not, go to the Audio Driver FAQ and

> delete driver files from the hard drive and download a fresh copy (sections 2 & 3)

> delete driver files from the hard drive and let Windows install its generic version of an HD audio driver (Sec 2 & 6)

If still getting the error message after these 2 steps then probably not a driver problem.
