Insperion E1705 Blue screen
Can anyone help me. I bought an Insperion E1705 and it has randomly stopped and shows a blue screen. This has happened for the two months that I have had this computer. The error is multiple_irp_complete_requests Stop 0x00000044. Dell refuses to take back the computer. They did send a replacement and I get the same error. I have done the restore about 7 times and it doesn't help. This must be a known issue since both computers have the same problem.
Thanks in advance.

Well, it looks like we're not alone. See these threads for a lot of people with similar problems:

BTW, I am running WinXP Pro SP2. Personally, I'm still leaning toward the problem lying with the 1390 wireless card or the bluetooth driver since one or both has been active every time I've had the BSOD, and at least twice it occurred when I was rebooting or reconfiguring my wireless router.

Well, I turned off the Bluetooth radio, and now I'm 2 days with no blue screens. I really liked the idea of being able to wirelessly sync my Axim X50v via BT, but it's not worth having BSODs. Hopefully we'll see an updated driver if this is indeed the problem. I'll post back in a few days if I'm still BSOD free...

Have you done a fresh reformat and reinstall with the OS reinstall CDs? (NOT System Restore, a clean XP Reinstall. If you didn't order the OS reinstall CDs with the machine you may have to call Dell to request them.)
System Restore gives you Dell's utterly horrific and cluttered XP preinstall. The OS reinstall CDs will give you a mostly clean XP install. From there install Dell's latest drivers from their website, or if you can find more recent ones on the hardware vendor's website (such as NVidia drivers from laptopvideo2go.com and Intel's wireless drivers), use those.
My first unit had defective hardware, but my current E1705 is nearly rock solid, and all crashes have been attributable to RightMark RMClock.
