Inspiron 1501

I would like to know how good is that series with AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56, 1GB RAM and ATI RADEON® Xpress1150 with 256MB HyperMemory™. Is the proc good and which intel series/model can it be compared to? My dell tech support friend suggests intel dual core instead of AMD. So I just wanna know if that processor is good enough.

Has anyone used this system, and if so, how did you find it?

The processor is fine, more so than the Celeron-M CPU. The downside of any budget system is the weak integrated video - it's fine for office work, but if you have any gaming aspirations, buy a higher-end model.

Dell has recently changed the 1501 to have the TL-50 processor and not the TL-56 (grumble)

I think it has ATI x1400 hypermemory card, which is likely with 128MB onboard.

Is AMD X2 comparable to only Celeron M, not any model of pentium dual core?
