Inspiron 1501
I received my Inspiron 1501 in January 2007 and it was loaded with XP Professional and everything worked great. Within the last week, I installed Windows Vista Business and it worked fine for about a week until I ran it on battery power one day and had problems with it booting back up. After reseating the RAM, I was able to get it to boot, but then my four USB ports did not work. After talking with some people at work, I decided it was a Vista issue and decided to reinstall XP Professional once again.
At this point, I pressed F12 during the BIOS screen, and proceeded to once again install XP. I still have problems with the machine either not booting, freezing, or the monitor shuts off (the power light stays on) and won't respond to any key pushing. My latest attempt was to reinstall XP once again in case I missed something but it froze in the middle of it. I have all updated drivers installed from Dell but have no idea how to resolve this issue easily.
If anyone could help me understand or resolve this issue, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much in advance.
Mike
