Inspiron 1501

My laptop will not start up with the power supply plugged in. It will start up with it unplugged. Also when the power supply is plugged in, the power light on the laptop will blink in 2 second bursts, meaning 2 seconds on then 2 off. The battery died real fast when I started it up with battery only, it usually lasts an hour or so. Is this a problem with the transformer, battery, or main board? Any help is appreciated.

First try another ac adaptor (known working and test yours with another working system), if this fails try starting on ac with no battery. Failing this your motherboard is likely the issue.

I did try another AC adaptor, and tried starting on ac only.... nothing changed. Figures it would be the motherboard. I will pull it apart and play from there. Thanks
