Inspiron 1720

I want to add another hard drive to my 4 year old Inspiron 1720 .  It has been a very good laptop for me and I have been most happy with the machine.  I discovered that I need to purchase an additional bracket, and an adapter to hook up a standard sata drive to my machine.

I log onto the Dell website and start searching.  Next thing I know I have a Dell customer service chat window popping up on my computer, and I figure I would see what they could do.  Apparently the part that I need is “C7586.”  The girl that I chatted with said that she checked twice to make sure that the adapter that I need is part of the package with the bracket (C7586)

This is good information for me so I go ahead and order the part.  I get it in the mail several days later. Not only do I not have the adapter, but I did not get any screws to attach it to my computer.  As you can imagine this does not help me at all.

I have called customer support, and after being transferred 3 times I ask to speak to a supervisor.  I’m placed on a never ending hold.  This places me in a very bad mood.

All I want is to add another hard drive to my computer.  I have the hard drive already, and the bracket.  I need some screws, and an adapter to connect my sata drive to my laptop.  Any thoughts?

So I purchase an item from Dell.  Dell fails to send me the all the pieces for the item I already purchased.  I post about it here, and I get an automated response telling me to go buy it from somebody else.  I fail to see how this is good customer service.  I figured somebody would have responded by now.
