Inspiron 5100 - will not boot up
Our Inspiron 5100 will power on, but will not boot up. It makes an inital noise, but then nothing happens. Yesterday (once) after my husband tapped it, it did boot up. However, since then, it has not worked. Any suggestions?
If it is not repairable, how do I remove our important files? Thank you!

If it's out of warranty, contact a mainboard repair shop - or replace the mainboard (the latter is likely to be an expensive option).
