Inspiron 6000 Display issue
Hi, Recently (Just out of warrenty) the display on my wifes Inspiron 6000 15.4" went crazy towards the bottom of the screen (if you pressed on the plastic bezell it would fix it temporarily). To remembedy this we purchased a new 15.4" screen which i have installed however the new screen displays the whole screen image but only in the left 50% of the screen at a 50% reduced size. it is doing this from start up, i out the old screen back in to make sure and it displayed the image over the whole screen as usuall (although still distorted) and when i put the new screen back in it still only displayed on the left 50% of the screen. i have updated the video drivers bios is up to date and i uninstalled and re installed all 3 default monitors under the hardware manager. And am now at my wits end can any body help ? thanks

I also have exactly this issue, namely that the bottom couple of inches is displaying only vertical lines, which are dependant on what is displayed elsewhere (they move with mouse etc).
I have seen a couple of other people posting this issue on the forums, so it is clearly happened more than once, and the advice thus far seems to be "replace the LCD" - but I feel that the fact that merely tipping the display back and forth can fix the issue (abliet temporarily) points towards a ribbon cable or something rather than the LCD... I mean it is not as though the bottom portion of the never works, for me it seems to very inconsistant and certainly a jiggle usually fixes, although getting worse over time (has been doing it for 2 weeks or more now).
