Inspiron 6000 Keyboard/typing problem

Question

Hello, My keyboard has been doing some strange things!  When I type, the letter will go into another line of the text.  This happens all the time - do you think its a virus?  I scan my computer for virus's constantly.  Just while typing this post, I've had to correct about 8 times. Any suggestions?  Thanks!   Barbara

I'm thinking your thumbs are hitting the touchpad when you type and that is 'moving' your text.

Thank you!  I think thats exactly whats been happening!  As I'm typing this, with my hands lifted a little, I'm not having that problem.  How simple something can be and yet I never would have thought of it!!  This is my first notebook.  Again, thanks so much! Barbara

Here is just a thought: might sound stupid, is to switch the keyboard and mouse pad around,then when your typing it wont mess up the text.

I'm thinking about making a cover for my mouse pad and buttons. That was then and this is now: During this time found the driver to fix my touch pad problem, called:
synaptics driver now the problem doesn't happen so much, but if it does I still have a cover for the area....lol always have a backup plain...:)
