Inspiron 6000 question!
Hi, I am looking at purchasing the Inspiron 6000 with 512 ram, 60 gb hard drive. I want to make sure that this computer will be able to handle "The Sims 2" and its expansion packs. I also plan on using the internet and Word. If you have any suggestions/comments about this computer and what specifications it should come with to ensure smooth and fast running, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Are you getting the integrated video model, 6000 system or the 6000d system with the x300 card ? Makes a big difference in some games. Even the x300 card is not that great for the better games unless you set the game setting down a bit. Check out the forum below to read some 6000 owners insight to the system you want....The plain jane 6000 system that only has the integrated video is not a gaming system....

LOL
They don't like it very much do they?
What blows my mind is they put that X300se in the 6000d when that system was supposed to replace the 5160, the 5200 Go is faster than the X300se........
I will stop there or I am sure to hear it....ROFL

Yeah really, at least they could have put a real video card in there like a X600 or something.

We all agree with ejn63....Please, if you want to play games, or even just a few games that you like or might like in the future, you will kick yourself in the head if you purchase the plain 6000 system with the integrated video...Its junk for games, but pretty darn good for internet, e-mail and solitaire.
Wait for a good Dell promotion that comes along each and every week. Some are better than other's and you could find a better deal, maybe in the 9300 system, that had a 35% off not too long ago. Or look for a coupon.
