Inspiron 700m Screen Problem

The screen of my Inspiron 700m was flickering a couple hours ago. I dismissed it, because the flickering stopped whenever I rebooted my computer. However, my screen just recently turned blank. I tried restarting it, but that didn't work. It's blank when I first turn it on, so there's no way for me to check anything on it (I'm writing this from my father's computer). Is there any way I can fix this without going to Dell for help? Because - no offense - they don't seem too helpful.

Note: My apologies if I posted this in the wrong section.

I really don't think so. If it is under warrantee return for an exchange & don't take no for an answer.
If not under warrantee then maybe a local tech. could replace the power supply & check it out otherwise.
As usual they will most likely try to sell you a new monitor, unless they have a really good reason tell them that you will never deal with them again.
cheers
