Inspiron 8200 -Charging problems

I have an Inspiron 8200 which is suffering from intermittent charging.

It will appear to charge for a period of time and then stop before the charge completes. The LED charge indicator will go off, sometimes after only a few minutes, sometimes the charge icon in the system tray indicates charging even after the LED goes off - either way the laptop stops charging.

I now own 2 power supplies and 4 batteries and can't get a consistent charging result. Anyone else suffering similar problems ?

Reseat, and if that doesn't work, replace, the battery charger board.

Ok, given that I've now bought 4 batteries and 2 chargers, it must be time to buy a new charger board. Thanks for the pointer.

Now... can someone can give me another pointer to how I can get hold of one of the charger boards, as I can't get it listed under the parts section?

Hi,

Try a reseat first, then look for one. Parts-People often have them. If you are heavy handed, they often come loose.

It's just not that the DC-jack is worn out and you have a loose connection? Check this thread then it might be of interest.
