Inspiron 8600 - No Red Present When Using External Display

Greetings - Insp 8600  with a NVIDIA, 64M, NV34 Graphics Card, displays all colors and graphics without issue using the built in display.  Connecting the laptop to a Dell 1750 external LCD monitor, no red is present.  Connecting another computer to the FP reveals that  the external monitor is OK so it has to be the Laptop.  Any suggestions regarding troubleshooting and a fix is appreciated.  Thanks

Try a different video cable - sometimes a bent or damaged pin will cause problems with one notebook and not another.

If the same thing happens with an external monitor, you likely have a broken pin on your video connector - which is part of the system board.

Thanks - If there are any diagnostic or repair suggestions, I would welcome those as well.  I doubt that it would be cost effective to replace the motherboard due to cost, etc.  Thoughts?
