Inspiron 9100 boot up problem

Ok, I had a problem and I think I made it even worse. At first the problem was my computer wouldnt boot up and it had an error that said ntoskrnl.exe was messed up, so i did the "expand D:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ C:\windows\system32" and the problem changed to hal.dll had a problem, so I did the "expand D:\i386\hal.dl_ C:\windows\system32, now my computer says "Windows could not start because of an error in the software. Please report the problem as : load needed DLLs for kernel. Please contact your support person to report this problem..................Someone please help me, I don't want to reinstall my os, I have lots of stuff on my comp and I just did a reinstall less than a month ago.

Unfortunately, I don’t think you have any other good options besides reinstalling the operating system.

Do a REPAIR install of the OS. this will NOT wipe the drive of your programs or data. If you still have a problem after the repair install then the hard drive is failing. System files do NOT get corrupted for NO reason.

Something tells me a repair install is not going to work, but you could try that.
