I just got a 9300 up from an 1100 and I'll say that the keyboard on this thing is awsome. Usually laptop keyboards don't feel as solid but I'll have to say, I almost think I'm on the real deal.
I will say though, gettin' used to the different location of many keys is one issue I'll have to get use to. It also feels a tad bit smaller. For as much open space as there is, I'm disappointed that they went with half-size F-keys as well. And I'll join in with many other in saying that there's enough room here to have either put a 10key or at least put the insert/home/pageup... those keys where they belong instead of above.
Overall though, this thing came with XP Home and I'm ready to toast it for Pro. At the same time, I'll note that I'm not thrilled with not having system recovery cd's being sent with the machine. They're on a separate partition that you have to pray you don't need the space from. Supposedly there's an easy way to get to the software to be able to burn it but I've not gotten that far just yet.
I got my 9300 last week and I still can't figure it out how to use the number keys on the keyboard. I turned the Numlock on [SHIFT-Num Lk] but couldn't use the number keys.

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
I’ve used the 9300 and its keyboard is awesome. It was really firm.

Would you say the 9300 keyboard is firmer than the 9200 or 8600 keyboard? Do the keys have a tactile feel that the 8600 was missing?
Thanks!

Hi Corey,

Help!! Thanks.
