Inspiron E1505 - No audio (solved)
Hi everyone,
I have it for almost two years and everything is fine. It happened yesterday when I tried to play a movie on my laptop and it just does have sound. I went to Start->All Program->Accessories->Entertainment->Volume Control and it gave me this message:
Then I went to Control Panel->Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices->Sound and Audio Devices (Adjust The System Volume) and it give me this message:
I also tried to plug in the headphone, but it does not give any sound either. Anyone has any idea what is going on with my laptop. Any help will be great appreciated. Thanks.
p.s: I have Window XP.
Edit:
I have been searching this forum since yesterday and found a solution that is confirmed to work for this issue. Here it is (http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?message.uid=18888348#U18888348):

jimco,
Your method:
"After you have performed an Operating System re-installation, install the audio driver following this order of installation:
a. Install Dell Notebook System Software (click the + sign next to System Utilities). Restart.
b. Next and very important, install the Intel Mobile Chipset driver (click the + sign next to Chipset). Restart.
c. Finally re-install the Sigmatel audio driver (click the + sign next to Audio)"
WORKS!!!
THNX!
Tested on my new DELL D630

Now I would like to know if I am going to follow those steps, how can I un-install those software, drivers (Dell Notebook System Software, Intel Mobile Chipset driver, Sigmatel audio driver) before going to re-install them again? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Edit:
I have solved it. Thanks for Jimco's guide (http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=insp_audio&thread.id=41245). All what I did was just step 3 (audio service) in his guide and the problem was fixed.
