Inspiron M5030
I purchased an Inspiron M5030 14 months ago, with an AMD processor. It now does not turn on, & tech support, iyogi, says the 7 beeps it emits indicates the processor is gone and must be replaced. 2 months after warranty expiration. I have found out this is a very common problem. I think Dell and/or AMD should do something to compensate the recent purchasers of this laptop. Does anyone know if any recourse exists ?

This is much more likely a mainboard failure than a CPU failure -- if your system is out of warranty you might want to see about extending the warranty - it will likely cost less than a single board replacement.
