Inspiron n5050 screen issues

The screen is not working at all, however the HDMI output is working just fine, I ran a PIST test on the screen and it was fine, I'm not sure whether this is a display driver or what, i'm stumped.

Hi Brycetbh,

The display seems to be fine since you have run the LCD BIST test on the screen .You are getting the display on the monitor from the computer so the video card is also fine. It should be an issue with the port on the motherboard or the LCD assembly cable.

I’d suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check for issue resolution.

  1. Switch off the computer.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter from the system.
  3. Remove the battery from the computer.
  4. Press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Then connect back all the peripherals and check if the LCD works.

Please revert with the results.

Hi Brycetbh,

On Dell Inspiron N5050 the webcam is connected to the motherboard through different cable.I would like to have system service tag.

I have added you as a friend. Please accept my friend request by clicking on my name highlighted in blue and then click on “Friends” tab at the top and then click on “Request to Review” and finally click on “Accept” button.

I am sending you a private message as well. Click on “Inbox” to respond to the message and provide the system’s Service Tag and contact details so I may access your system records and check for further course of action. You could also click on Start Conversation to send a private message.
