Inspiron N7110 Connection problems
I have a near brand-new inspiron n7110 which has all the drivers updated. However, when i try to connect to the internet, the connection is very intermittent and slow. The remainder of the computers on the network have no problems. How can I fix this?

Hi Gailrs,
Welcome to the Community,
Does the Wireless icon on the task bar show good signal strength? Is it that the wireless connection keeps dropping?
If your internet is running slow, boot the system to safemode with networking and check if internet works faster.
To access safemode with networking, restart your system tap F2 on start up( at Dell Logo),under Advanced boot options select/highlight safemode with networking, press enter and login to the system.Make sure the system is connected to the wireless network and browse internet and see if it works faster than in the normal mode.
To get back to normal mode restart your system.
Also to find out which wireless card your system has,go to Control Panel,Device manager, click on the triangle next to network adapters and see which wireless card is listed.
Post back your findings, along with the name of the wireless card listed.
Thank You
Roshan

I'm having the same problem - but not Wirless, it's already with LAN cable. I guess Gailrs is having the same trouble.
Please look at my post which I added today to this thread here:

Ah, means you connect through WLAN anyway, ok.... I came a step further in the meantime. Go to Network Options
(I went to the options of my LAN-Connection, guess you'll have to do it for your WLAN Connection).
I basically unchecked everything except IPV4
(means "QoS-Paketplaner", "IPV6" and so on).
I my case I also have installed "PC Tools Firewall Plus" (a freewall Firewall which didn't cause any problems under Win7 32bit).
That one added "PC Tools Firewall Driver" in the Network Options which I uncheck too.
Now I'm able to download 90MB Files without having to resume 5-6x.
Not sure yet what exactly was causing my problems
(I will now check one after other back and see when the problems start appearing again).
I guess it will be the "PC Tools Firewall Plus" which maybe has a Problem with the Firewall of Win7,
or maybe something with QoS, because my CISCO Switch has also QoS...

It's not the signal strength, I tested it. I tried booting it up in safe mode, and the internet seems to work then. Also, my wireless card is the Intel Centrino WiMax 6150. Also, I figured out that it is only on this one connection that I have the problem, however no other computers on the network are having any problems.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Create a Power Plan
Select High performance.
Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Have also heard that some members disabled the Bluetooth in the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1030 adapter and got good results.
