Insprion 6000 Doesn't Come on

Hey i'm new here i have a question i have an Insprion 6000 and all it does when i plug it up the battery led just flashing fast nothing else doesn't even power up and when i either unplug it or take the battery out it does nothing not even flashing or anything is there anything i can do? i think it may have gotten wet a few days ago i just bought this back june 2005 my guess is it just needs to dry out if it got wet anyway thanks for the help :P

If you powered it on when it was wet, chances are high you fried something.

Open it up (remove the keyboard), let it dry for a couple of days, and try again. If it still won't power up, and you've got a complete care warranty, call Dell. If not, you're probably going to be faced with a major repair bill.

ok thanks a bunch will do just gotta figure out how the keyboard pops up :)

hey i just noticed something before it got kinda wet i had out laying around on the table and the very same day my two little 5 and 7 year old cousins were here and both sticks of ram were missing from the laptop would this cause it to not come on as well? please let me know that way if it doesn't come one with out ram i'll pick some up it takes DDR 2 thanks :)

and btw i didn't power it on while it was wet

All these posts about laptops that won't come on have me nervous. I just bought a laptop that worked for one day with error messages and now will not come on. No lights are on at all so it is not even charging. India was no help. They said we must have done something wrong, which we have not.

i meant will the notebook power on with out ram i didn't mean boot up :P i'm just woundering if it'll power up with out ram that way if thats the problem then i cna buy some new ram for it i don't wanna waste money on new ram if thats not the case :(

Not sure if it is computer specific or not but I have started Dell desktops without RAM. You will of course get an error. But again I don't know for sure whether your 6000 should definetly turn on w/o RAM or not.

*Update* sorry guys its me again i just thought i'd give an update as its doing something alittle different that it just started doing earlier and i bought a new stick of ram for it as it needed any who when the power button is pressed the power light comes on then goes out bout 4 seconds later but the battery light flashes still i think that means the battery is charging this is the closet i've had getting it to come on sence the accident i hope it'll start to work again soon i've blow dried all the water and everything out inside it looks good as new any suggestions besides the mobo being fried cause i don't think thats the case ;) thanks a milion!!!!
