installing a bluetooth module on dell vostro 1520
Hello,
My vostro 1520 did not come with bt, and when I bought a bt 360 module, I noticed for some ridiculous reason that the vostro 1520 was designed with the chip on the bottom, not under the display as usual.

At any rate, I had not bought a cable at the time, so I put the chip away. Now I am going to go ahead and install the chip, but the only cable I have found is around $22. This seems like a rip off, particularly when it seems to be required because of the length alone.
However, why can't I use this cable?

And just leave the chip on that side of the motherboard without screwing it in? After all, it won't move around much because it's in a casing.
Any thoughts?

It might work, assuming you can keep the Bluetooth module still and not moving around in the system. You wouldn't want the Bluetooth module shorting out the notebook. This is not something I have tested; I unfortunately can't even tell you if the data cable from ascentech will even fit on the Bluetooth module. Look up their return policy before purchasing.
