Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver not working.

I have a Studio 1747 with i7 quad wunning on windows 7 64x. all of a sudden my computer startied moving really slowly even after a reformat and defrag.. i did a performance test and it talked about there was a problem with Intel Turbo Boost Technology driver. The event viewer has a lot of Kernal power warning, saying this  that that this core was slowed due to processor firmware.

When I looked into device manager, there is now and exclamation point next to Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver. I have tried updating the driver but it was up to date. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver still no luck. Even went to the Intel site they driver download has been disabled. I see a lot of people that have this error but no fixes. Any one have any insight?

The BIOS are up to date.

Hi nfb1204,

Welcome to the community.

Please go to the device manager and uninstall the current turbo boost driver entirely.

You can download the turbo boost monitor instead to see that your PC is in fact using turbo boost without this driver.

You can download this application from this link:

Let me know of the findings, glad to be of assistance.

I checked out the link at Intel, but when you go to download Intell has a message saying :***** PLEASE NOTE: THIS TOOL IS OFF LINE - PLEASE CHECK BACK NEXT WEEK *****

Any other suggestions? As a side note, the laptop fans are on a lot more than usual. would this have anything to do with that also and could that be the cause of the processor errors?
