Is it possible to Disable Touchpad?
Is it possible to disable the touchpad without disabling the trackpoint? How can I do this?? I use the trackpoint, but I always bump the touchpad causing undesired clicking, etc.

Hi tobert,
You sure can! I would suggest you download the most recent touchpad driver for your system. They're available at support.euro.dell.com - let me know if you need a hand finding the driver, I just need to know which Latitude you have and which operating system you use (e.g. Latitude D600, Windows XP).
Once you download and install the most recent driver, restart your computer. Open the control panel and choose mouse & pointing devices. Have a look through all the tabs there. There should be an option for disabling just the touchpad and not the keyboard trackstick.
You might also want to have a look in your bios (F2 at the Dell splash screen when booting) to see if there's an option there for disabling the touchpad only. I'm not 100% sure it's in there, but it doesn't hurt to look. The instructions for navigating within the bios are at the bottom of the screen.
Best of luck!
