Issue with blue screen in windows xp

Question

I kept getting a blue screen stating a file named partMgr.sys was causing my windows not to boot. So I went into save mode and deleted the file now I can't even access anything. It states I need to run chkdsk/f. But I can't! Every time I try to get into anything I just get a blue screen. Even if I f12 command I can't get thru the entire diagnostic test cause of errors in ide disk s/n = s0442j20l217973.

Also I don’t have any kind of disk to run windows, except windows bios. That is all dell sent me. Have a card that states my computer doesn’t need a operating system. I think there is an issue with a driver or something from downloading from Microsoft updates?

This issue started since the last windows update, not sure if their updates caused it but that was the last items download on 2.25.10. I have experienced issue with my dell when computer automatically updates. What about a virus?

I have no clue??????

You can't just delete system files without causing problems. Chkdsk /F has a space before the /F. That's to check the hard drive. You need to get a reinstall disk for your OS so you can correct the file deletion. Get it by filling out the form HERE.

The command sfc /scannow will check the system files. But you need to boot to the operating system disk to run it. There's a space before the /.
