It still will not come on!!

I have a Latitude D531 laptop that when I hit the power button, the light comes on but goes off after about 10 seconds. This began when I had it on ansd all of a sudden shut down. One of Dell's people told me to try something but it still shuts off after five or six seconds. I thought it might be a short but am unsure. Any ideas? Help needed badly!

Hi,

Welcome to the Community. Let us know which lights light up? Is there a light on the AC adapter when connected to the laptop? What were the steps performed? It's most probably a motherboard failure.

Hey Royan!

What seems to be happening is I hit the power button and the lights to the right come on and after about five seconds they go out. I have tried with only the battery, only the adapter and other times both. Still no luck.

The laptop is no longer under warranty.

nothing seemed to be ghappening before except it took a long time to shutdown.

That's all I can think of right now.

Hi,

Based on the information that you have provided, it means it's a motherboard failure. If you need a quote for the motherboard replacement, send me a Private Message.

Thank you.

Royan:

Go ahead and give me a quote on the motherboard. Thanks.
